چکیده
Magnetotactic bacteria(MTB) are a group of prokaryotes having the ability to orient and swim along geomagnetic fi eld lines because they contain intracellular magnetosomes that synthesized through biomineralization process. Magnetosomes have recently also been found in unicellular eukaryotes, which referred as magnetically responsive protists(MRPs). The three origins MRPs. In this study, we characterized MTB-grazing ciliated MRP was collected from intertidal sediment Huiquan Bay, Qingdao, China. Based on 18S rRNA gene sequence analysis, tentatively identifi ed Uronemella parafi lificum HQ. Using transmission electron microscopy, observed 2-3 shapes were randomly distributed within ciliate. Energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy high-resolution microscopy images consistent with them being composed magnetite. same shape mineral composition detected MTB occurred environment MRP. Statistical analysis showed size similar those MTB. results suggest can graze, ingest, digest various types It is certainly worth noting rst record MRPs Asian aquatic suggesting might be widely distributed. These support assertion probably contribute ecological cycles iron, expand possibilities for research into mechanism magnetoreception eukaryotes.

A Preliminary Report on the Isolation and Identification of Magnetotactic bacteria from Iran Environment
Several species of Magnetotactic bacteria have been discovered recently. These bacteria synthesize intracellular magnetic nanoparticles in specific sizes and shapes and arrange them in chains. These particles called magnetosomes and can be used for drug-delivery, cell-targeting and hyperthermia. Magnetotactic bacteria navigate along the magnetic field; this process is known as ‘magnetotaxis’ wh...
متن کاملHeavy metal pollution in intertidal sediments from Quanzhou Bay, China.
The concentrations of eight heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Hg, and As) in the intertidal surface sediments from Quanzhou Bay were determined to evaluate their levels and spatial distribution due to urbanization and economic development of Quanzhou region, southeast China. The ranges of the measured concentrations in the sediments are as follows: 24.8-119.7 mg/kg for Cu, 105.5-241.9 mg/kg...

The Karnafully is one of the most important rivers due to its profound influence on water chemistry and sediment characteristics. The present study intended to assess the quality of water and sediment from intertidal zone of this river in respect to the pollution index. Seasonal water and sediment samples were collected during four seasons (Monsoon, post-monsoon, winter, and pre-monsoon) of 201...
